Fellowship Indianapolis (a.k.a. Fellowship Indy) is Indy's best environment to make gay friendships.  Meeting continuously since 1977, we are Indiana's oldest and largest gay men's social organization.  Our primary activities are monthly pitch-in dinners.

We encourage prospective members to come to a "trial" pitch-in - - you don't need to bring a dish for this first pitch-in. Once you have come and thoroughly enjoyed yourself, you can then decide to join the group and start planning all the "fabulous" dishes you'll want to bring.

Who are we?

Members are adult (over 21), single and coupled, gay men who enjoy good company, good conversation, and the opportunity to make new friends.  Many members have developed relationships ranging from pleasant acquaintances, to good friends, to committed loving relationships.  Many of the gay leaders in Indianapolis are or have been members. Currently over 100 people are paid members of the group.

What activities does Fellowship Sponsor?

We hold our pitch-in dinners once a month, usually on a Saturday or Sunday evening. We also have weekend pool parties in the summer plus a formal winter cocktail party.  Dinners take place in member's homes and in clubhouses located in the Indianapolis metropolitan area.  Each member is asked to bring a beverage and a dish to share (couples bring one dish only). Usually 50 to 60 members attend each event.

"Holiday Cocktail Party"

Major birthday anniversaries are a great reason to celebrate -- especially when we are the oldest gay social organization in Indiana. In January 2012, we kickoff our 35th Anniversary with the Holiday Cocktail Party at the historic Benton House in Irvington with the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus providing the musical entertainment.

The character of the party is a little different from our regular pitch-ins. This is dinner, but it is “heavy hors d’oeuvres” and fancy desserts. It is a time to leave your mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts recipes in the cook book. Hot and cold finger foods are the order of the day. Dress is not formal, rather Winter festive.
Another difference is that this is a time to share your favorite bottle of wine or champagne. [ In the past Fellowship has not had an accident, but a Benton House policy is to not drink red wine in rooms with carpets.] Obviously, nonalcoholic beverages are most welcome, too.

Fellowship will provide all the setups: serving utensils, cocktail napkins and small cocktail-sized plates as well as table hot pads and lots of wine and soda-sized glasses. Please come and enjoy the special music and meet old and new friends.

If you haven't hosted a monthly party and you haven’t already given, please consider making a modest donation to cover the $500 expense of music, rent, and special party setups -- we are still several hundred dollars behind what we need to pay for the costs. This is a great opportunity for those of us who don't have a home big enough to host 50+ men to be co-hosts for a pitch-in.
